Island Party Boat provides a fun and safe environment for our guests aboard our charter and tour boats. We want every customer to remember a fun experience and a great interaction with our staff. If you are outgoing, reliable, and professional, we want you aboard! IPB is currently accepting applicants for the positions listed below.

CAPTAINS

• Position Description

• As a Captain at the Island Party Boat, it will be your primary duty to ensure safe operations of any vessel you are operating. It will be your responsibly to manage the crew on your vessel and the safety of our passengers.

• Position Qualifications

• Must hold a valid USCG Master MMC Great Lakes license

• Must have or complete First Aid/CPR training once hired

• Must be enrolled in our random drug testing program once hired

• Prior charter or professional vessel operation experience is preferred

DECKHANDS

• Position Description

• As a deckhand, the safety of our passengers will be your primary responsibility. Deckhands are also responsible for maintaining vessel cleanliness before and after charters/ticket cruises. Deckhands will report to the First Mate and Captain and are responsible for performing any other duties as directed by the First Mate or Captain.

• Position Qualifications

• Must have or complete First Aid/CPR training once hired

• Must be enrolled in our random drug testing program once hired

• Maritime experience is preferred

DOCKMASTER

• Position Description

• Our Dockmasters are responsible for maintaining our Dockwall along the Chicago River. Dockmasters will be responsible for greeting and tying up transient vessels as well as any Dockwall maintenance such as sweeping, clearing weeds, installing new cleats. Dockmasters will report to the Dock Manager and Island Party Hut Manager on duty.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Prior customer service experience

• Outgoing and engaging personality

• Willing to work flexible hours

• Ability to climb ladders if necessary

STEWARD (BOAT BARTENDER)

• Position Description

• As a Vessel Steward, our customers on-board experience will be your number one priority. Bartenders are responsible for preparing beverages, ensuring the bar space is clean, and assisting with any other operations asked by the Captain. Bartenders will report to the First Mate or Captain while on-board.

• Position Qualifications

• Previous bartending experience preferred

• Must have or complete Illinois BASSET training or equivalent

• Must have or complete First Aid/CPR training once hired

• Enroll in our random drug testing program once hired (optional)

GUIDE/DOCENT

• Position Description

• Our Tour Guides are responsible for narrating Chicago's unique Architecture and History, and for representing the face of the Island Party Boat. Our Tour Guides are also responsible for ensuring our customers enjoyment and overall experience aboard our vessels.

• Position Qualifications

• Prior tour guide experience

• Excellent public speaking skills

• Experience and understanding of Chicago's architecture and history

• Outgoing and engaging personality

• Willing to work flexible hours

TICKET AGENT / ADMIN

• Position Description

• Ticket Agents are at the front lines of our in-person customer sales and operate our point-of-sale systems in our ticket booths. Our Ticket Agents are responsible for making sure guests are aware of where and when to board our vessels when purchasing tickets.

• Ticket Agents are responsible for knowing where all our vessels are located and should be able to help customers navigate our property and the Chicago Riverwalk.

• Willing to work flexible hours

TICKET PROMOTER

• Position Description

• Ticket Promoters are also at the front lines of our in-person customer sales and are responsible for promoting the sale of all Island Party Boat products. Our Ticket Promoters are primarily responsible for promoting the sale of ticket cruises and making sure guests are aware of where and when to board our vessels when purchasing tickets.

• Ticket promoters are responsible for knowing where all our vessels are located and should be able to help customers navigate our property and the Chicago Riverwalk.
